9 Ways to Honor Loved Ones at Wedding

Weddings are a huge celebration between two people and love is definitely something to be celebrated. But sometimes, heartaches are involved. Couples who have lost a family member or friend can choose to wish and honor them at their wedding. It’s valid to feel the absence of a loved one who can’t be there in person, and you’re not alone.

A family photo table is a way to celebrate those around you and those who are no longer with you. It’s a beautiful way to showcase your guests the people who mean the most to you. 

Set up a table near the entry doors to the ceremony. You can add pictures of everyone in your family or your deceased loved ones. You can also relocate this table to your reception as well.

Reserve a seat at ceremony

This is a common way for people to honor their loved ones. It definitely feels like they are with you and watching you get married. 

Normally, this seat is in the first row, in the center. You can have a reserved sign with a photo of the person.

If you are having a ceremony program, you can honor your loved one by adding them to the ceremony. Most couples will write a few sentences in the program about them along with a picture.

Everyone loves memory stories – that’s why people ask, “how did you guys meet” or “how did he propose?” When you make your toast as a newlywed at your reception, you can also make a toast to your loved one and share a beautiful memory of them.

Wear something that belongs to them 

Last but not least, if there is a piece of clothing that belongs to them or has special meaning, by all means, wear it.
